I never thought that even after work, I’d be able to set aside an hour for crafting. But lately, I have — and it feels really good.
The biggest change is that I’ve let go of the pressure of “I have to film this.” Once I freed myself from that thought, I began to truly enjoy the making itself. The process feels lighter, calmer.
The things I make are simple — tiny picture frames, small pillows, miniature potted plants. Familiar pieces, quiet and repetitive. In just an hour, I can finish a few. They’re small, but they bring a sense of accomplishment and a lovely atmosphere. Somehow, the fatigue of the day fades away.
I’ve realized that filming — especially tutorial videos — can feel like a heavy responsibility. This year, I want to shift my focus. What matters most to me is the relaxation and healing that come from the act of making. When I focus too much on results or teaching, I lose the joy of the process.
I’m still exploring a more relaxed way to create videos. Canva has been a great help, offering simple tools and templates that make things easier. I can’t completely ignore the numbers, of course. But I keep reminding myself that if I genuinely enjoy what I’m doing, that feeling will reach my viewers — even if the videos aren’t perfect.
Here are some of the small pieces I’ve made recently. I love the atmosphere they create. I hope this inspires you to find your own gentle way to unwind after a busy day. There is still so much beauty waiting to be noticed.
