Let’s chat about storing our stuff when we’re building these tiny homes. Here are some tips:
1. Less Glue, More Flexibility:
First off, don’t go overboard with the glue. I like to reuse furniture and decorations without sticking them down permanently. Surprisingly, I skip the glue on the walls and floors altogether. Why? Because I can fold them up and stash them away easily.
You might wonder how everything stays in place without glue. I create a kind of “trail” between the walls and use the roof to keep everything secure. It takes some extra planning during the design phase, but it’s worth it. So far, I’ve made two foldable minis and I’m working on my third.
2. Opt for Double-Sided Tape: Amazon link below

Instead of glue, I prefer double-sided tape for sticking on decorations. It’s easy to remove stuff without causing any damage. I also use white medical tape that’s soft and removable. They’re both strong enough to hold things in place but come off easily when it’s time to clean up.
3. Go Small, Pack Smart:
Once my miniature masterpiece is done and I’ve taken tons of pics and videos, it’s time to pack it away. Since I don’t use glue, I just take apart the walls and toss them in a bag. That’s why I recommend making 1/24 scale or smaller houses—they’re easy to store in pieces.
I even made a video showing how I take apart my Christmas Cottage Cafe. Check it out below for all the details!
