As a newbie in the miniature world, you’re probably excited and wondering where to dive into this tiny universe. I’ve had a couple of dollhouse kits before, and trust me, it’s easier than you think.
When it comes to finding dollhouse kits, Amazon is the go-to spot. Pick one based on your budget, preferred shape, and house type. Just search ‘dollhouse kit’ and enjoy the house-hunting journey. 🤣🤣

A few tips before you make a purchase:
1. House size:
Amazon’s dollhouse kits are generally around 30cm x 30cm, roughly 1:24 or 1:30 scale. If you want something bigger (like a Barbie house), look for 1:12 scale kits on Etsy. Etsy-Dollhouse kit offer unique options from creative makers, though they might cost a bit more.
2. Number of furnitures included:
Dollhouse kits usually include furniture and a guide. If you want a simple project, go for a one-floor house with minimal decoration. My greenhouse kit had tons of plants, and the library kit surprised me with an abundance of books – almost too many for a bookworm like me! 🤣🤣 Some kits, like this one, exclude furniture. In that case, if you want to fully decorate, consider ordering extra furniture and decorations. Some kits may even let you paint the dollhouse as you like.
3. Tools included or Not:
Most Amazon dollhouse kits come with necessary tools, but some may not. Check the description or ask the seller beforehand. Don’t worry if tools are missing; building a dollhouse usually requires basic stuff like a utility knife, ruler, pencil, glue, and patience. I’ll share more about the tools I use for dollhouses in an upcoming article.
Happy crafting! 💖
